A small hedgehog worked in fine silver-toned metal thread by the Parisian embroidery house Macon & Lesquoy. Founded by Marie Macon and Anne-Laure Lesquoy, the studio treats every brooch as a piece of jewellery rather than a badge, and the raised bullion stitching gives this one a bristling texture you can feel under a thumb.
- Hand-embroidered brooch pin, sold individually
- Approximately 3 x 2.3 cm (30 x 23 mm)
- Worked in cannetille, a fine bullion metal thread wound into a spiral, cut to length and embroidered like beads
- Brooch pin fastening to the reverse
- Designed in the maker's Paris studio; hand-embroidered in the maker's own workshop in Pakistan
- Supplied in the maker's card and velvet-lined presentation box
- Not machine washable or suitable for dry cleaning; keep away from water, alcohol and prolonged heat
Because each piece is embroidered by hand, small differences in stitch and sheen occur between examples and are part of the character rather than a fault. Store it in its box between wearings to protect the threads.
