An open sardine tin, four fish and a rolled-back lid, hand-embroidered in gold, blue and silver metal thread by Parisian house Macon & Lesquoy. It is the kind of deadpan French still life the studio is known for, and one of the more sought-after designs in the range.
- Hand-embroidered brooch pin, sold individually
- Approximately 2.7 x 4.5 cm (27 x 45 mm)
- Worked in cannetille, a fine bullion metal thread wound into a spiral, cut to length and embroidered like beads
- Brooch pin fastening to the reverse
- Designed in the maker's Paris studio; hand-embroidered in the maker's own workshop in Pakistan
- Supplied in the maker's card and velvet-lined presentation box
- Not machine washable or suitable for dry cleaning; keep away from water, alcohol and prolonged heat
Larger than most of the maker's brooches, so it holds its own on a jacket lapel or a canvas bag. Hand embroidery means no two tins are stitched identically.
